Working with the IRS and the State of Michigan tax agencies requires the expertise of someone who has training in the area. The best professionals to call are NTPI Fellows. An NTPI Fellow has trained for 3 years in understanding the IRS and the best way to handle your tax problems. NTPI (National Tax Practitioner Institute) is run by NAEA (National Association of Enrolled Agents). Enrolled Agents and CPA’s have the background to continue on into being a NTPI Fellow.
NTPI Fellows and Tax Attorneys are similar in training on tax matters, however the NTPI Fellow cannot represent you in tax court. CPA’s without the NTPI Fellow training or something similar may not have the knowledge to handle your tax issues.
Take your time and investigate the person you select to handle your tax issue. Don’t just use a friend’s buddy. When you have a tax issue, it can cost you money if you select someone who cannot help you.
TDRS only has NTPI Fellows who are also Enrolled Agents to assist you. Many times clients have come to us AFTER going elsewhere and wasting money on a professional who did not know what they were doing.
At TAX NOTICES, there are hundreds of “form” letters you can receive. Most of them are time-sensitive. If your tax issue is not handled per the deadline on the Tax Notice, you may lose an opportunity to resolve your issue with little cost. Coming to TDRS after a deadline has passed, may require an Appeal or something similar…and that can be costly.
There are many solutions. Not all are right for your case. Has a Strategy been developed for the best solution for your case? Do you need a 3-month Plan or a 3-year Plan? Are State agencies involved? Do you understand how to also work with them?
TDRS works with all State Agencies and all states. Once Representation is established with the IRS and State, TDRS can assist you in the tax matters.
- Is a Payment Plan best?
- Are eligible for an Offer-In-Compromise?
- Are required tax returns missing? TDRS can prepare all tax returns.
- Is it necessary for a LEVY to be stopped?
- Has a Lien been filed that prevents you from refinancing?
Refer to the Case Studies: The SIX YEAR PLAN and THE $1 OFFER SETTLEMENT. A strategy was developed for a company and his owner that included all 5 issues listed above. The important point is that the owner of the company followed the Strategy that TDRS developed. He now, 5 years later, has no liens and owes no money to any tax agency.
